iPhone softphone for Asterisk & FreePBX
Your extension rings.
Wherever you are.
A native SIP client for your own PBX that rings a phone that was fast asleep. No background socket, no battery tax, no cloud in your calls.
Most softphones hold a connection open all day and eat your battery for it. Saffron SIP sleeps until your PBX taps it awake.
A desk phone
that fits in a pocket.
Rings like a real call
Full-screen on the lock screen, in your call history, answered with a swipe. Not a notification you have to chase into an app.
Asleep until it matters
No socket held open, no background drain. Your PBX taps the phone awake the instant a call arrives, and it rings in about two seconds.
Your PBX, not our cloud
Signalling and audio go straight from your phone to your server. The relay carries one thing: a wake tap. Never audio, never credentials.
Speaks fluent PBX
Asterisk, FreePBX, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio: if it can POST one small JSON webhook, it can ring your phone. Guides for each, below.
Encrypted when you want it
TLS for signalling and SRTP for audio, end to end between your phone and your PBX. Our guide gets you there in an afternoon.
Sounds like a phone should
Opus and G.722 for HD voice on good networks, μ-law and A-law for the rest. Symmetric RTP and ICE keep audio flowing on cellular.
How it works
One webhook. That's the setup.
You configure the app in a minute. Your PBX admin adds three lines of dialplan. Everyone goes home early.
A call hits your PBX
The PBX holds it for a moment instead of ringing a phone that can't hear it yet.
Your PBX sends one webhook
A four-field JSON POST to the relay, with a key the app gives you. That's the whole integration.
Your iPhone wakes and rings
Apple's push wakes the phone, CallKit rings it, the app re-registers, and the call lands. About two seconds, start to finish.
The one Saffron app
with a server behind it.
- Waking a sleeping iPhone takes a server. Something has to be online around the clock to catch your PBX's webhook and hand it to Apple. That's the relay, and it's what the small subscription pays for.
- It hears a tap, never a word. The relay sees who's calling which extension, so it can wake the right phone. Your SIP password, your audio and your conversations never pass through it.
- Everything else is yours. Calls flow phone-to-PBX over your own network. We couldn't listen in if we wanted to.
Never miss the call.
Your PBX, your rules, your pocket. Set up in an afternoon, rings for years.
